Col-Col Cooperation

Col-ColCol-Col Cooperation is a type of intranational cooperation which promotes local development in Colombia, using knowledge exchange and its ownership and alignment in sereval territorial contexts in the country. Likewise, it´s a complement for financial and technical cooperation received for emerging and developing countries.

In Colombia, Col-Col Cooperation represents an evolutionary step in the relationship between cooperating partners, National government and territorial stakeholders, because it renews national and territorial Colombian practices in peace and developing areas, to be shared with other Colombian parties in different geographical and socio-cultural contexts within the country.

Through Col-Col Cooperation national and territorial capabilities in a technical, administrative, financial, public management approach are strengthened, which contribute to the development of the National Development Plan, Territorial Development Plans, Post-conflict agenda and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Knowledge exchange as a starting point, APC-Colombia has a portfolio of national and territorial experiences which resulted in relevant learning, and furthermore with a range of methodologic guides in order to document, classify and validate peace and local development experiences. These experiences and methodologies are named Saber Hacer Colombia and can be useful in a different cooperation types framework, among them we can focus on:

  • South-South cooperation with a territorial approach, which involves local development stakeholders ( Mayors, governorship, civil society organizations, chambers of commerce, between others) from emerging and developing countries. Col-Col Cooperation consists on knowledge exchange between two or more national or local stakeholders from Colombia with the aim to strengthen capabilities and to contribute to peace and local development.

It´s necessary to emphasize that Col-Col Cooperation encourages social, cultural and political inclusion in territories, communities and populations that are not used to interact or dialogue about their problems and needs, due to the geographical distance, the lack of meeting points or financial reasons between others. Likewise, this type of cooperation takes advantage of the language, social and cultural affinities, and their needs, aspirations and challenges that all of them have in common ( for instance: the Post-conflict) in order to achieve higher results in their development.
